Adviser to the Board
Luís Cunha is an adviser to the CEO of EDP Distribuição and current Chairman of EDSO for Smart Grids, focusing primarily on matters related to the energy transformation process, energy policies, smart grids, and the digitalisation of the distribution system. He is also an active member of the European DSOs’ association, most notably with respect to energy policies and the future roles of DSOs.
Previously, amongst others, he served in several senior and management positions in network control and automation, system operation, metering and data management and innovation, having been one of the leaders of the InovGrid initiative, a pioneer and innovative implementation programme that has been successfully addressing the technological, societal and economic value of the Smarter Grids implementation.
He graduated from the University of Oporto in 1995, where he studied Electrical Engineer. He holds a Master degree in Information Management and a post-graduation in Business Administration.
